Starlight starts at Giza tonight: what visitors need for 9–10 October
Starlight’s two main festival nights take place at Giza on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October 2026. For visitors already in Cairo, the practical question is whether your ticket, arrival time and return journey fit the event’s admission rules.
Two main nights beside the pyramids
The official Starlight website confirms 9–10 October as the festival’s main dates at the Pyramids of Giza. EXIT’s launch announcement places the event in a designated location with the pyramids as its backdrop. Treat this as a separate music-event visit: a festival ticket should not be read as permission to enter a pyramid or as ordinary archaeological-site admission.
The wider programme includes opening and closing events in Cairo. Those are separate from the two Giza main nights, so check the date and venue printed on the product you buy. A ticket for an ancillary event is not something to assume covers Friday or Saturday at Giza.
Buy the right day and ticket category
The organiser’s current website directs buyers in the MENA region to TicketEgypt and buyers elsewhere to Fever. Start from the official festival website and follow its booking links, rather than relying on an unsolicited resale link. On Fever, Friday and Saturday are distinct dates, with standing, VIP standing and backstage categories shown. Check the selected date and category before paying.
Availability and checkout prices can change during the event weekend. This article deliberately does not promise a remaining allocation or a fixed last-minute price. The important check is the final booking screen: which night it covers, what access it grants, the currency and the total charged.
Fever’s published conditions say tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. If you are choosing around a flight or an onward journey, resolve that uncertainty before purchase rather than expecting to switch nights later. Save the booking confirmation and follow the ticket provider’s instructions for presenting the valid ticket at admission.
Doors, age and re-entry: the rules that change your evening
The organiser-linked Fever listing gives a door window of 17:00 to midnight, a minimum age of 21, entry only with a valid ticket, no sales at the door and no re-entry. These are the admission conditions checked on 9 October; consult the current booking page and official entry guide again before leaving your accommodation.
Do not plan to arrive without a ticket and negotiate entry at the gate. Equally, do not leave the event expecting your wristband or original booking to let you back in. Eat, charge your phone and organise what you need before entering, subject to the organiser’s current security and permitted-item rules.
The midnight door cutoff and the final performance are different things. The official timetable includes headline sets after midnight. If you arrive late, an artist’s later start time does not extend the published admission window.
The timetable crosses into the next calendar day
Friday’s published main-stage programme includes WhoMadeWho, Pete Tong back-to-back with Vintage Culture and an Adriatique set at 01:00. That 01:00 slot falls early on Saturday morning even though it belongs to the Friday festival night. Saturday’s programme includes Michael Bibi, Enrico Sangiuliano and Charlotte de Witte, with Charlotte listed at 01:00 early on Sunday.
Use the current official timetable for the full stage-by-stage running order. These examples explain why a return trip or hotel booking should allow for the following morning; they are not a substitute for checking any day-of changes. All times here are Cairo local time.
Use the entrance route for your ticket category
The official entry guide gives different routes by ticket category. Standing and VIP standing ticket holders should head to the Grand Egyptian Museum parking, then take the organiser’s shuttle to the visitor centre. There, collect your bracelet at check-in, pass security and take the next shuttle to the event drop-off before entering with the bracelet. The guide marks the stages with yellow, red and green towers.
Backstage standing ticket holders are directed through Fayoum Gate 2 to parking at the visitor centre. Follow the blue towers to ticket scanning and bracelet collection, then pass security and board the shuttle to the venue. Share the correct starting point with your driver: a generic pyramids drop-off or the other ticket category’s parking is not the published route.
The guide confirms these shuttle steps, but it does not establish a guaranteed transfer time or a hotel-to-festival service. Leave room for the journey across Cairo, parking, check-in, security and the transfers. Follow any later organiser update over this snapshot.
Arrange how you will get back before you arrive. Keep your accommodation address available offline, preserve phone battery and agree a clear pickup plan with any travel companions. If you have an early flight or tour on the following morning, consider the after-midnight timetable before committing to the whole night.
What to check before leaving your hotel
Confirm the correct festival night, the ticket category and the current entry instructions. Check the 21+ condition, the published door cutoff and the no-re-entry rule against the latest official booking page. Then check the timetable and decide how late you actually want to stay.
A daytime pyramids visit and an evening music event have different purposes and admission arrangements. If you are doing both, treat them as two separate bookings and allow a practical break between them. Do not assume this festival changes ordinary monument opening hours or supplies daytime sightseeing access.
This report was checked on 9 October 2026. It is a planning snapshot for the 9–10 October main nights; after the weekend, it should be read as an event record rather than a current invitation to attend.
